Gretchen R. Dabbs (Ph.D. University of Arkansas, 2009) is a Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Complex for Forensic Anthropology Research in the School of Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology at Southern Illinois University. Since 2008 she has worked to examine and understand the lives of non-elite individuals buried at Amarna, the New Kingdom capital city of Akhenaten. Through the bioarchaeological analysis of human remains, Dabbs uncovers information about diet, disease, workloads, and trauma patterns that provide insight into the lived experiences of individuals often excluded from written records in ancient Egypt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":11137,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-11064","authors","type-authors","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nGretchen R.
