He has chaired and organized many conferences, including &ldquo;Scolpire il marmo: Importazioni, artisti itineranti, scuole artistiche nel Mediterraneo antico&rdquo; (2009) in Pisa; &ldquo;Artistic Practice in the Ancient World: Sketches, Models, and Pattern Books&rdquo; (2012), at the Getty Villa in Malibu; &ldquo;Out of Scale! Aesthetic, Technical, and Art Historical Perspective on Ancient Bronze Statuary&rdquo; (2015) at Palazzo Strozzi, in Florence; &ldquo;Cityscapes in Hellenistic Sicily: A Reassessment&rdquo; (2017) in Berlin; &ldquo;Colored Stone Statuary in the Ancient Mediterranean&rdquo; (2017), in Pisa and Florence; &ldquo;Tradition\/Transition\/Revolution in the Late Archaic Period: Contexts, Artists, Styles&rdquo; (2018) in Pisa. He has been a scholar in residence at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles (2012), and&nbsp;Visiting Palevsky Professor&nbsp;at UCLA (2018). He has lectured in Europe, the United States, and Japan. He is author of&nbsp;<em>Akragas arcaica: Modelli culturali e linguaggi artistici di una citt&agrave; greca d&rsquo;Occident<\/em>e (Milan 2011) and co-editor of&nbsp;<em>Restaging Greek Artworks in Roman Times<\/em>&nbsp;(Milan 2018).
