Her main interests are in the material culture of the Late Hellenistic and Roman Republican periods. For the past 10 years, she has been directing a research center focused on the history and archaeology of the Black Sea region, which has resulted, among other publications, in the series <em>Black Sea Studies<\/em> (Aarhus University Press) of which 14 volumes have appeared to date.
