Cosmopoulos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael B. Cosmopoulos is the Hellenic Government-Karakas Foundation Professor of Greek Studies and professor of archaeology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His fields of interest include the Aegean Bronze Age, the emergence of states, and Greek mystery cults, in which he&nbsp;has published 16 books and more than 100 articles and scholarly papers.&nbsp;He has excavated at several sites in Greece and Ukraine and is currently the director of the Iklaina Archaeological Project (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iklaina.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.iklaina.org<\/a>).&nbsp;He has received the Archaeological Institute of America Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and is a&nbsp;Fellow of the Academy of Science-St. Louis, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the Royal Society of Canada; and a&nbsp;Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":2435,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-2434","authors","type-authors","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Michael B.
