His research focuses on Roman social and economic history, with a particular focus on Republican Rome and Italy. He has recently published a book on urbanism, architecture, and economics in the city of Rome c. 400-200 B.C.E.,&nbsp;Building Mid-Republican Rome: Labor, Architecture and the Urban Economy&nbsp;(Oxford 2018).
