Florence Liard is a post-doctoral researcher in Mediterranean Archaeology, with a specialization in Ceramic Petrology. Using a multidisciplinary approach to pottery provenance and technology, she is interested in examining phenomena of craft innovations, regionalisms and artistic appropriations in times of widespread societal disruptions in the Mediterranean. Her Ph. Dissertation (Université Catholique de Louvain and F.R.S-FNRS, 2015) addresses continuities and changes in pottery traditions in northeastern Crete during the advanced Late Bronze Age. In 2017\/2018, she was the Williams Fellow in Ceramic Petrology at the Fitch Laboratory of the British School at Athens, before starting a postdoctoral fellowship “Initiative d’Excellence” at the Institut de Recherches en Archéomatériaux at Université Bordeaux Montaigne, in collaboration with the Fitch Laboratory (2018-2019).
