Brendan Haug is Assistant Professor of Classical Studies and Archivist of the Papyrology Collection at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received his B.A. in Classical Studies from the University of Washington and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the Graduate Group in Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of California Berkeley. His research focuses on the environmental history of Hellenistic, Roman, and early Arab Egypt, particularly irrigation, as well as aspects of the history of modern Egyptology.
