He is studying the toolkit of the shipwright and its evolution from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. His research interests include the operational sequence (<em>cha&icirc;ne op&eacute;ratoire<\/em>) of shipbuilding, woodworking technology, tool marks analysis, experimental archaeology, and ethnographic studies focusing on technological data. The social aspects of craftmanship are also part of his research field.
