We have been pleasantly surprised in compiling this newsletter by how many substantial site publications have appeared, sometimes for older excavations, sometimes for newer&mdash;the most extraordinary instance being the near-instantaneous publication of substantial parts of the Gabbari cemetery excavated on an emergency basis by the Centre d&rsquo;&Eacute;tudes Alexandrines (CEA). Some Eastern Desert sites have also been particularly fortunate in seeing rapid publication.
